Places to Eat

The High Springs/Alachua area has the usual assortment of fast food (read "fat food") restaurants, including McDonalds, Hardees, Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut. We also have Subway restaurants in High Springs and Alachua, for those of you who prefer fast, but healthy.

A half-hour away, at Interstate 75 exits 382, 384 and 387 in Gainesville, you will find a vast assortment of popular chain restaurants, including On the Border, Bennigans, Red Lobster, Chili's, Olive Garden and more. On days when we are diving in the Peacock area, we almost always have lunch at the deli in the Luraville Country Store. On whole, the cost of dining out in our area is the same or less than in most metropolitan areas.
